A team of Scuba certified technicians thoroughly sweep each custom defined area to remove the stalks and root systems of all nuisance weed species, such as Eurasian watermilfoil (Myriophyllum spicatum). Due to the meticulous nature of the removal process, your lake shore will experience weed-free results that ineffective chemical treatments and imprecise mechanical cutting simply cannot accomplish.* As each individual plant is extracted from the lakebed it is swiftly collected and disposed off-site upon completion of the job. This additional facet of our services ensures that your lake shore and beach areas remain clean of any weed fragments.
As a chemical-free service, you can be confident there are no health risks to you, your family, pets, or your lake’s ecosystem.
Waterfront Restoration, LLC frequently controls these invasive species (partial list):
- Eurasian Watermilfoil (Myrophyllum spicatum)
- Flowering Rush (Butomus umbellatus)
- Curly Leaf Pondweed (Potamogeton crispus)
- Zebra Mussels (Dreissena polymorpha)
- Quagga Mussels (Dreissena rostriformis bugensis)

For Lord Fletcher's Old Lake Lodge, we are the service of choice in lakeshore revitalization.
* Long-term success varies with the species of weeds, the sediment type, and the individual conditions of your location on the lake. Certain species of weeds are not possible to de-root 100%, but can still be effectively controlled.

This process helps to minimize the number of sharp,
dangerous objects in a defined swimming area. The team of divers
thoroughly searches the lake bottom and removes any discovered bottles,
glass, cans, sticks, etc.

All common objects are disposed-of off-site. Disposal of toxic/hazardous or unusually large or heavy objects are
subject to extra disposal charges. Work is performed after completion of
by-the-root removal. Only available in areas free of weeds.

FLOATING WEED CLEAN UP & BEACH CLEAN UP
|
Watermilfoil and other weed fragments that float into shore will
eventually germinate and reinfest your swimming area. To prevent
reinfestation, it is important to ensure that the majority of these
fragments are regularly cleaned up.

If you are unable to do this
yourself, you may wish to consider this service. Floating weeds are
removed from the water using rakes and nets. Weeds are disposed of
off-site, or at an area on the lake property per your request. This
cleanup service is available with a weekly service agreement, or on-call
with 5 days notice.

ZEBRA MUSSEL EXTRACTION |
More information about Waterfront Restoration's Zebra Mussel Extraction Services.
On Wednesday, July 28th, 2010 biologists from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources confirmed that zebra mussels (Dreissena polymorpha) have been present in Lake Minnetonka for at least the past year.
These fingernail sized mollusks pose a serious threat to the ecosystem
of the lake by disrupting the already fragile aquatic food chain. By
attaching to virtually any hard surface, the razor-sharp shells of
these invasive creatures are a safety concern to swimmers and boaters
alike.
Waterfront Restoration has always been intent on keeping the lake
shores of the greater Lake Minnetonka region an inviting and safe atmosphere for all
activities. With this goal in mind and in light of the recent discovery,
we are expanding our services to offer Minnesota lakeside residents
a comprehensive solution to zebra mussel extraction.
Our
team of scuba certified technicians will physically remove the zebra
mussels attached to your dock, recreational vehicles, irrigation piping,
and beach areas. This comprehensive and laborious process ensures the well being for all those who use your lake shore.
